WILLIAMS LAKE - Just a reminder that as of Monday, Category 3 fires will be banned in the Cariboo Fire Centre. The ban is in place because of an increased risk of fires that remain undetected before flaring up with rising temperatures.
SMITHERS - The dust advisory that was issued in Prince George yesterday has ended, due to improved air quality. The advisory was originally issued because of dusty conditions caused by road traffic on busy roads and industrial operations.
SMITHERS - The road dust advisory that was issued yesterday for Burns Lake has been lifted. The Ministry of Environment and Northern Health say the particulate matter levels have decreased. The advisory was originally issued as a result of high concentrations of coarse particulate matter.

PRINCE GEORGE- Cimo Mediterranean Grill is joining a growing movement to ban single-use plastics. The local business has been using biodegradable to-go containers and cutlery for more than five years, but recently it's made the decision to phase out drinking straws.

PRINCE GEORGE - The new downtown hotel that's weeks away from opening has become a target for a couple of Northern Flicker Woodpeckers. The uninvited, winged guests are causing thousands of dollars in damages and likely won't check out until the end of May.
