PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George residents were forced to deal with the most frigid weather of the year Thursday. They awoke to a temperature of -29 in the morning and wind chills of -34. But there is good news. A warming trend is on the way within a few days.

WILLIAMS LAKE — 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Highway 97 South and Butler Road near Lac La Hache yesterday. The highway was closed for several hours while the collision was under investigation, but was re-opened in the late afternoon.

An ice jam on the Nechako river is causing some localized flooding in Prince George. Residents living along Morning Place on the western edge of the city, say the river began to flood early Monday morning. Some river water has entered a few homes.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Northern Health have issued an Air Quality Advisory for Vanderhoof. The advisory is a result of high concentrations of fine particulate matter in the area.
